The Nicholsville Project

by George Barry Nichols

George Nichols and Harriet (Whidden) Nichols establish a farm on the Upper Humber River in 1873. The family prospers and grows as does their homestead Nicholsville, enduring as one of Newfoundland's earliest permanent inland settlements.

This project acknowledges the island of Newfoundland as
ancestral homeland to indigenous peoples, extant and extinct.
